I’m a coffee shop girl.  My idea of a relaxing afternoon is a comfy seat, a hot cup of good coffee (which is always better if paired with yummy dessert!), and hours of good company.  This is why I’m always on the lookout for places not only with good coffee, but inviting and relaxing atmospheres as well. I’m happy to have found such a place in Bowen 24 Café.

Life would be so sad without pie. I mean, who doesn’t enjoy a good pie? I can name a few friends who’d rather not have cake (I still don’t get you, though), but who have their own favorite pies. You don’t like the sweet pies? You can always get a savory one (pizza is a pie, y’all!). So, here’s yet again another reason why BF Homes is a foodie haven of the South: getting your specialty sweet and savory pies at the Pie Kitchen!  Continue reading “Sweet and Savory Pies at The Pie Kitchen”

Christmas Decor Ideas at the Landmark, Makati

Halloween in the Philippines is not as widely celebrated as it is in other countries, but it’s around this time of year that I get excited about dressing the kids up for Trick or Treat events. I was sidetracked, however, when I came upon the Christmas displays on the third floor of Landmark in Makati this week. I was palpitating while looking at all the colors, themes, kinds and sizes of Christmas trees, decorations, and other Christmas-themed items for sale! Pasko na! Our Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay Staycation: The Breakfast Buffet

One of the things I always look forward to in hotel stays are the breakfast buffets. I’ve never been the continental breakfast kinda girl: I need my rice, eggs, ulam and coffee. I wasn’t expecting much from the breakfast buffet included in Hotel Kimberly’s package, but I’m happy to have gotten all my breakfast staples and more, including awesome crispy bacon, the famous Tagaytay tawilis, at may dilis pa!  Continue reading “Our Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay Staycation: The Breakfast Buffet”

Our Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay Staycation: The Activities

As much as time, health, and budget permit, we try to give the kids experiences which are fun, safe, and educational. The main reason why Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay appealed to me was because of the hotel’s in-house activities which seemed to be perfect new experiences for my two young, energetic kids. So when we found a weekend when time, health, and budget were all in check for a trip to Tagaytay… gooo na! Road trip, woohoo!  The kids had a blast, and the Princess is already asking us when we can go back! Continue reading “Our Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay Staycation: The Activities”

I’ve always considered Tagaytay to be our “default getaway” whenever we feel the need for a quick out of town trip.  We had so much fun at our stay in Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay that we took so many photos!  I had trouble sorting out which ones to put up on my blog! In fact, we have so many photos that I’ll be doing three blog entries on Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay: The Hotel, The Activities, and The Breakfast Buffet.  I’ll start with The Hotel. Ok, I’m not really an AlDub (Alden and Yaya Dub) fan, and truthfully I think I was one of maybe 2% of the Manila population who were very late in knowing about the AlDub phenomenon.  Come to think of it, I only discovered AlDub when my hubby needed to impersonate Alden for a Christmas presentation last year.  I was like, “Sino ka daw dapat? Sino yun?”.   But, on a recent Tagaytay staycation, I have to admit it was a done deal that we try Concha’s Garden Café at the Cliffhouse when I found out that it was owned by Alden Richards.
